Most Promising Young Player

The Effendi-Morrey Trophy is awarded annually to the most promising young player. To be eligible the player must be under 23 years old as of 1st September that season. The decision is entirely at the discretion of the senior coach.

OK (Kemal) Effendi took 302 wickets for Ashwood and was a member of the 2007/08 1st XI premiership side.

Paul Morrey made almost 5,000 runs for Ashwood and was a two-time 1st XI premiership captain and coach. Paul spent some years as Junior            Co-ordinator and both of Paul’s sons – Nick and Jim – also played 1st XI cricket for Ashwood.
